I get asked all the time is it important to take a realtor to a new built. My answer is absolutely!! Why not, it's not costing you anything. The fee is being paid for by the builder. The realtor is able to walk you through the builder's contract, negotiate a better deal on closing cost and possible options. Along with protecting you through the building process. Don't go in without representation. 

The new home consultant on the other side of the table is representing the builder, not you. That's why they're super friendly. They're trying to make a friend and gain your trust. Why not have someone that will look out for your best interest and not the builders!!!
